Working Out: Which Muscles to Workout Out

When you are starting to workout or exercise a lot of individuals will mimic what they see in the gym, because they do not know any better. What I would recommend is that you start studying muscle groups and the specific actions that they do. The rule of thumb is that most of the movements that you will be doing when weight training will consist of pushing and pulling which create flexion and extension. For example when you work your chest, shoulders and triceps all of those muscles are involved in pushing. When you work your back and biceps, those muscles are involved in pulling. When you are working your leg muscles, they are involved in both flexion (hamstrings) and extension (quadriceps).
As long as you can remember those basic actions, you will be able to create exercise routines that will not conflict with each other.
